{"id":9878,"date":"2023-06-22T10:54:43","date_gmt":"2023-06-22T08:54:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/letrainjaune.fr\/?temps_fort=festival-of-bread"},"modified":"2023-06-22T10:54:46","modified_gmt":"2023-06-22T08:54:46","slug":"festival-of-bread","status":"publish","type":"temps_fort","link":"https:\/\/letrainjaune.fr\/en\/?temps_fort=festival-of-bread","title":{"rendered":"Festival of Bread"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Bread Making, an Artisanal Tradition in Palau-de-Cerdagne<\/h2>\n\n<p>On this special occasion, each of the family living in Palau-de-Cerdagne gets a free bread baked in the old village bakery, called the ARIS.<\/p>\n\n<p>The bakery ceased its activity in 1956, and in 1998, the municipality decided to buy it back in order to make bread once a year on this occasion.  On August 13, 1999, the first Festival of Bread took place, and it is now celebrated every year on August 13. Since 1999, this festival has been a great success and became an unmissable event of Cerdanya in the summer.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><a href=https:\/\/letrainjaune.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/Traditions-fetes-Fete-du-pain-Palau-de-Cerdagne\u00a9-Fred-BERLIC-scaled.jpg title=\"The Festival of Bread of Palau-de-Cerdagne\" rel=\"prettyPhoto\"><img src=https:\/\/letrainjaune.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/Traditions-fetes-Fete-du-pain-Palau-de-Cerdagne\u00a9-Fred-BERLIC-1920x2548.jpg alt=\"\" title=\"The Festival of Bread of Palau-de-Cerdagne\" width=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4020\"\/><\/a><figcaption>The Festival of Bread of Palau-de-Cerdagne<span>&copy; Frederique Berlic<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The Community of Municipalities of the Pyrenean Cerdanya participated in the rehabilitation of the old bakery. The \u201cCorsican\u201d bread trough and tools are original. The oven with a surface area of 6 m\u00b2 can cook 30 round breads of 2 kilos per batch. Its heating takes place 3 weeks in advance so that the mass of brick and earth reaches a uniform temperature for both the roof and the floor.
